Rated voltage is the nominal supply; the operating range next to it is the actual voltage window each model runs in. Confirm your bus voltage falls inside that range before ordering. Max static pressure is the value at (or near) zero airflow, not a usable operating point: real system resistance drops airflow well before that number is reached, so size against your actual duty point, not this column alone. Noise figures are recorded per model but the exact test distance and standard are not shown here; if that detail matters for your specification, confirm it with us before quoting. 48V is the standard voltage across the full size range. 24V is standard on 225–300mm; 110VDC is standard from 400mm up.

12V, 85V and 310VDC are available as a custom order on request. These are not standard configurations, and lead time and pricing for a custom voltage are confirmed directly with our engineering team, not quoted from a standard price list.

0–10V, PWM or RS-485

Every BLDC axial fan in this 14-model range supports 0–10V DC, PWM and RS-485 control. This is a common specification across the full line and does not vary model to model.

Before finalizing your RFQ, confirm the following with our team rather than assuming a standard pinout:

  • PWM frequency
  • Logic voltage
  • Pull-up configuration
  • Minimum duty cycle
  • Startup behavior
  • 0% duty-cycle behavior
  • Exact pin definitions for any tach/FG or lock-rotor alarm line you need

Three-wire and four-wire fans do not necessarily follow the same wiring convention across models. Confirm against the datasheet for your specific model before designing it in.

Motor Wiring Reference

Two motor platforms cover this range: BLDC92, used on the 24V and 48V models, and BLDC102, used on the 48V and 110VDC models. Reference wiring diagrams for each are below — confirm pin-by-pin against your specific model's datasheet before finalizing your design.

06 / DEFINITION

What Is a DC Axial Fan?

How Axial Airflow and the BLDC Motor Work

A DC axial fan moves air in a straight line, parallel to the motor shaft: air enters one face of the housing and exits the opposite face along the same axis. A brushless DC motor uses electronic commutation and is designed to operate from a compatible DC supply.

Front view Side view — airflow parallel to motor shaft Air in Air out Axial Fan Airflow: Straight-Through, Parallel to the Motor Shaft

DC Axial Fan vs Compact DC Brushless Fan

The 225–450mm sizes on this page are industrial-frame fans built for equipment-level and enclosure cooling. If you're looking for a smaller, 20–200mm DC fan for electronics or compact equipment cooling, see our DC Brushless Fan range instead; it's a different frame class with its own specification set.

When to Compare AC, EC or Centrifugal Fans

Axial fans generally suit straight-through airflow with an unobstructed inlet, in a compact square or round frame. They also work well where PWM or tach integration is needed. If your application instead needs a 90° turn in airflow direction, works against a narrow duct, or needs concentrated airflow from a side outlet, a centrifugal blower is usually the better fit. Static pressure alone isn't a reliable way to choose between the two types: modern high-speed axial fans can reach high static pressure as well, so don't rule out an axial fan on pressure figures alone.

07 / APPLICATION FIT

Where These Fans Fit

DC axial fan cooling an outdoor power and telecom enclosure

Outdoor Power and Telecom Enclosures

Outdoor enclosures for power electronics and telecom equipment need a fan that can move air against real internal resistance, not just a high free-air rating. Across this range, 225–450mm models cover 1,200 to 6,150 m³/h depending on frame size and voltage, but the number that matters is airflow at your actual enclosure resistance, not the datasheet maximum. Before specifying, confirm your target airflow and static pressure at the enclosure's real operating condition, and check that the enclosure's supply falls within one of this range's voltage options: 24V, 48V or 110VDC.

DC axial fan cooling energy storage and charging equipment

Energy Storage and Charging Equipment

For battery cabinets and charging equipment on a DC bus, these DC axial fans can be supplied from a compatible DC bus without an added AC-to-DC conversion stage. Standard models use 24V, 48V or 110VDC depending on frame size (see Voltage and Control above). Confirm your enclosure's thermal load, required airflow at your actual internal resistance, and control interface (0–10V, PWM or RS-485) before specifying a model.

DC axial fan mounted on an industrial condenser and heat exchanger

Industrial Condensers and Heat Exchangers

The 254×89mm frame is built for radiator and condenser coil mounting. This is an industrial application, not an automotive radiator fan. Other frame sizes in the range can also be considered for heat-exchanger cooling where a standard-depth housing suits the mounting. Confirm coil face dimensions, required airflow at your coil's actual resistance, and mounting depth before specifying.

DC axial fan ventilating DC-powered equipment and a control panel

DC-Powered Equipment and Panel Ventilation

For general ventilation inside DC-powered equipment and control panels, where the fan cools the electronics inside a cabinet rather than a room, the 225–450mm range gives a wide airflow and static pressure spread to match panel size and internal component density. Confirm your panel's internal airflow path, required static pressure at your actual resistance, and available mounting depth before specifying a model.

08 / BEFORE YOU ORDER

Lock the RFQ Specification Before Sampling

01

Free-Air Rating vs System Resistance

The free-air CFM/m³/h figure on a datasheet is not what you'll get once the fan is installed against real system resistance: heatsinks, filters, perforated panels and dense wiring all add resistance that airflow has to work against. The actual operating point is where the fan's pressure-flow curve crosses your system's resistance curve, not the free-air number alone. Max static pressure, similarly, is measured near zero airflow and isn't a usable operating condition on its own.

Common mistakes include:

  • Sizing on frame diameter alone
  • Comparing only free-air CFM figures across models
  • Assuming two models at the same voltage are interchangeable

Others include:

  • Ignoring PWM/tach electrical logic
  • Treating max static pressure as an operating point
  • Adding a filter without re-checking resistance
  • Overlooking required inlet clearance

Before sampling, confirm your actual system resistance and request the fan curve for your candidate model. Free-air specs alone aren't enough to lock a spec.

02

Sample-to-Production Specification Control

One automation-equipment customer opened with two samples of a 225×225×80mm, 24V metal-impeller fan, with their production volume undecided: anywhere from 5 to 1,000 units depending on which of their own product lines adopted it. The specification stayed unchanged for eight months while their internal volume decision was pending; we didn't chase a PO before it was ready.

Case Reference

Two-sample project with potential volume up to 1,000 units; the specification remained unchanged through an eight-month internal decision cycle.

If production volume is still undecided, tell us at the sample stage. We can keep the approved sample specification on record and use it once the project moves to production quantities.

03

Drawing, Connector and Mounting Approval

Case Reference

We previously had an AC axial fan order (not this DC line) where two similar variants — different blade count, different rotation direction, or a different mounting suffix — were confused under close part numbers, because an outdated drawing version had never been formally retired.

Specify the exact drawing revision, model suffix and blade rotation direction on your RFQ and purchase order, not just the base model number, especially if your application could accept more than one configuration.

04

Compliance Documents for the Destination Market

Case Reference

On a past urgent 24V DC axial fan order, packing weight and volumetric-weight estimates were provided ahead of production completion, and the commercial invoice and packing list were drafted in parallel with sample testing instead of waiting until the run was finished, which kept an air-freight shipment on schedule.

If your shipment has a hard delivery date, tell us at RFQ stage so documentation can be prepared alongside production rather than after it, and confirm any carrier-specific compliance requirements (such as for magnetic cargo) before booking freight.
