Max pressure is the figure at or near zero airflow, not a usable operating point on its own. Your real operating point is where the fan's curve crosses your system's resistance curve, so size against your actual duty point and request the curve rather than reading the max-pressure column as a target. Open any frame size below to see its curve and drawings.

04 / VOLTAGE & CONTROL

Match Voltage and Control Before You Order

230V or 380VAC

230VAC is the standard voltage across the 200–500mm sizes. At 500mm, a 380VAC option (F3E500AN230-31) is also available on the same frame for buyers who need the higher airflow and pressure it delivers. 630mm ships standard on 380VAC.

If your project needs a voltage outside this set, confirm it with our engineering team; it's not something we quote from a standard price list.

0–10V, PWM or RS-485

0–10V and PWM control are standard across the full range. RS-485 is included as standard from 10-inch (250mm) up. The 8-inch (200mm) size's standard configuration ships with 0–10V and PWM only.

If your project needs RS-485 on the 8-inch size specifically, or any control combination outside what's listed here, tell us at the RFQ stage and our engineering team will confirm what's possible.

06 / DEFINITION

What Is an EC Axial Fan?

An EC axial fan uses an electronically commutated motor: the fan's own electronics handle commutation instead of a mechanical brush assembly, and the motor accepts a speed-control signal directly through 0–10V, PWM or RS-485. For the full explanation of how EC motors work, see EC Fan Solutions

EC vs AC Control

EC fans integrate electronic commutation and speed control into the motor itself, so they accept a supported control signal (0–10V, PWM or RS-485) directly. Speed control on a standard AC axial fan depends on motor type and often needs external control hardware to vary speed. If your project needs the fan to track a variable load rather than run at one fixed point, that's the practical difference to weigh.

07 / APPLICATION FIT

Chiller and Condenser Cooling

EC axial fans in this range are a common fit for chiller condenser cooling: commercial refrigeration and chiller units where the fan needs to track condensing pressure rather than run at one fixed speed. 0–10V, PWM or RS-485 control lets the fan follow the system's load instead of cycling on and off at full speed, and the 200–630mm range covers small packaged units up through large commercial installations. Before specifying a model for a chiller or condenser application, confirm your required airflow and static pressure at the coil's actual resistance, not the free-air figure, and check that your controller's signal type matches what the model supports.

EC axial fan mounted on a chiller condenser unit

Other HVAC Applications

EC axial fans in this range may also be considered for selected air handling unit, fan coil unit, fan filter unit and cooling tower configurations, where the required airflow, static pressure and installation geometry fall within the axial fan's operating range. For a full breakdown of EC fan selection in these applications, see our dedicated guides: AHU Fan Guide and EC Fans for Cooling Towers

08 / BEFORE YOU ORDER

Lock the RFQ Specification Before Sampling

01

Duty Point vs Free-Air Rating

The free-air m³/h figure on a datasheet is measured with nothing in front of the fan. Once it's installed against real system resistance, coil face area, ducting or a filter, actual airflow drops below that number.

Case Reference

On one project, a customer's early candidates were rejected because their curves weakened above 0.4 in.w.g. of static pressure; the review moved to a 350mm EC axial candidate once the actual duty point was factored in.

Before sampling, confirm your required airflow at your actual system resistance, not the free-air number, and request the performance curve for your candidate model rather than reading a single spec-sheet figure as the answer.

02

Common Control for Multiple-Fan Arrays

If your application uses more than one fan working together, tell us at the selection stage whether you need one controller commanding the full array. A multi-fan array can run from a common control command when the controller's output and the fans' input specifications are electrically compatible; this is worth confirming with our engineering team rather than assuming.

Case Reference

On one project, replacing four larger competitor units with nine 350mm EC axial fans, the customer asked for a shroud or mounting ring and whether one controller could command all nine fans. We supplied the shroud, and confirmed that one controller could command all nine fans over a 0–10V control signal.

03

Frame Variant and Model Suffix on the RFQ

Each size in this range is available in N, S (8-inch and 10-inch only) or G frame configurations, and some sizes offer more than one motor option under different suffixes (for example, 350mm's -90 and -20 variants). These get shortened or dropped on purchase orders more often than you'd expect.

Specify the full model number, including frame letter and motor suffix, on your RFQ and PO, not just the base size, especially if more than one configuration could technically fit your application.

04

Compliance Documents for the Destination Market

If your shipment has a hard delivery date, tell us at the RFQ stage so commercial invoices, packing lists and any destination-specific compliance paperwork can be prepared alongside production instead of after it, and confirm any carrier-specific requirements for your shipment before booking freight.

05

Requirements Beyond the Standard Catalog

Don't assume a requirement outside the 200–630mm range or the standard control set is out of scope.

Case Reference

On one project, a transformer manufacturer's cooling system needed a large-frame fan integrated with a PLC, RTD/PT100 feedback, 4-20mA signaling and Modbus, a requirement outside our standard catalog. The next step wasn't a purchase order; it was an engineering meeting, working through the control logic point by point before moving further.

If your requirement falls outside what's shown on this page, raise it at the RFQ stage rather than assuming it can't be discussed. Whether a control system genuinely integrates gets confirmed engineer to engineer, not asserted on a spec sheet.

What to Include in the RFQ

To get an accurate quote on the first pass, include: frame size and model suffix, rated voltage, required airflow, required static pressure, ambient temperature, control interface, mounting orientation, frame configuration (N, S or G), quantity, destination market, and any documents you'll need with the order.

Datasheets, Drawings and Performance Curves

Dimensional drawings and performance curves are available on request for every model in the range. See the size sections and model table above for model-specific detail, or request the full set directly through the RFQ form.

Verified Product and Quality Documents

Product Compliance

All models in this range carry CE marking.

Quality Management System

Our quality management system is certified to ISO 9001 at the company level, not as a per-model product certification. Certificate numbers and the certified entity are available on request rather than published here.

Construction and Ratings

8-inch through 18-inch (450mm) sizes are Insulation Class B; 500mm is a dual B/F class depending on model; 630mm is Insulation Class F. Operating range is -25°C to +60°C across the range. Standard protection rating is IP44 on 8-inch through 18-inch (450mm); 500mm and 630mm ship standard at IP54. IP54 is available as a custom option on the smaller sizes on request; this is not the standard configuration for those sizes.

Beyond the Standard Catalog

If your application needs a frame size, control setup or level of customization outside the 200–630mm range shown here, our engineering team takes on custom-built projects. In one recent OEM project evaluation, a 910mm EC axial fan solution was developed around full PLC, Modbus RTU, 4-20mA and PT100 integration for a transformer manufacturer's application, because the requirement fell outside our standard catalog range; that solution isn't a stocked part and isn't part of the model table above, but it shows the kind of custom engineering scope we take on. Talk to our engineering team about your requirement even if it doesn't match a size on this page.
