Centrifugal Fan Manufacturer: EC, AC & DC Models with OEM Support

OEM buyer guide for choosing a centrifugal fan manufacturer across AC, DC and EC models

Most centrifugal fan manufacturers look similar at the quotation stage. The real differences show up later: who can supply EC as well as AC, who can match an old footprint without guesswork, who has IP options beyond the entry level, and who still answers clearly when a production batch goes sideways. To have a broader view, please check our Centrifugal Fan and Centrifugal Blower first.

OEM buyers rarely judge a supplier on price alone for very long. The safer screen is simple enough: check the data, check the motor range, check the protection options, and check how the supplier behaves when the project stops being easy.

Overview of Centrifugal Fans and Their Applications

Key Takeaway

A capable centrifugal fan manufacturer does more than quote airflow and voltage. OEM buyers need test data, motor range, IP options, cross-reference accuracy, and a believable path from sample review to mass production.

Five Questions Worth Asking Any Centrifugal Fan Manufacturer

Price gets remembered first. Trouble gets remembered longer. These are the questions that do the best job of separating a usable centrifugal fan manufacturer from one that just looks good on a datasheet.

1. Can they show certified test data?

Fan curves are only useful when the test conditions behind them are visible. Ask for the report, not just the number. Manufacturers testing to AMCA 210 should be able to show documented performance curves on request. Proventofan fans are tested in-house with documented curves under ISO 9001-certified production conditions.

2. Do they offer EC motors or only AC?

Plenty of traditional suppliers still center the range on AC. That can work in fixed-duty equipment, but it narrows your options fast once part-load control matters. In many variable-load HVAC and industrial OEM projects, EC becomes the stronger fit because speed control is native and part-load consumption drops without adding external control hardware. Our EC fan solutions overview shows where that shift tends to happen.

3. What IP rating options are available?

IP44 is not enough for every job. HVAC and industrial applications often need IP54 at a minimum, and harsher installations move the requirement higher. A supplier limited to entry-level protection can push the enclosure problem back onto the buyer. Proventofan covers IP44 through IP65 across the centrifugal fan range.

4. How are quality issues handled after delivery?

Lead time and price are the easy part. The harder test starts after shipment, when a batch fault or mismatch shows up. Ask for recent defect-rate history and get the warranty process in writing before the PO is placed.

5. Can they cross-reference competitor specifications?

Switching suppliers rarely starts from a blank sheet. More often, the buyer needs the new fan to land in an existing housing, on an existing bracket pattern, with performance close enough to avoid redesign. A worthwhile manufacturer cross-checks the competitor datasheet, flags where the match is clean, and points out where it is not. Proventofan includes that engineering review at no extra charge.

Why Motor Type Range Matters When You Compare Manufacturers

Two suppliers can both call themselves centrifugal fan manufacturers and still leave you with very different design choices. Some really are AC suppliers with a few add-ons. Others give you AC, DC, and EC across enough sizes that you can keep the original duty and change the control strategy instead of starting over.

From the buyer side, motor range is not a catalog trophy. It decides how many options stay open once airflow, static pressure, voltage, and control logic are locked down.

AC Centrifugal Fans

They are still useful when fixed speed is acceptable, unit cost matters, and the application does not gain much from modulation. The current Proventofan AC range runs from 133mm to 355mm, with 115V, 230V, and 380V options and power from 18W to 750W. Residential HVAC, fan coil units, and straightforward exhaust duties still fit that profile.

DC Centrifugal Fans

They solve a different problem. They stay compact, they work naturally with DC power systems, and they make sense in electronics cooling, medical equipment, vehicle HVAC, and telecom enclosures. The range covers 133mm to 450mm, 24V to 110V DC, and roughly 380 to 5,000 m3/h.

EC Centrifugal Fans

They are where a lot of OEM conversations end up now. The attraction is not only efficiency. It is the combination of built-in variable speed, no external VFD, long service life, and easier control integration. Proventofan’s EC centrifugal fan range covers 133mm to 560mm, 230V or 380V AC input, 200 to 9,000 m3/h, static pressure up to 1,520 Pa, and control options including 0-10V, PWM, and RS485 Modbus. That makes EC centrifugal fans a natural candidate for commercial AHU, FCU, cleanroom FFU, and cooling tower applications that run 8 hours a day or more.

Five questions to ask a centrifugal fan manufacturer before placing an OEM order

OEM and Custom Manufacturing

Most OEM buyers do not start by asking for a ground-up design. They start with a standard centrifugal fan, then push on the dimensions, voltage, control method, or IP requirement until it fits the actual machine. More detail sits on the custom fan OEM page, but the main question is simpler: how much of the real specification can the manufacturer absorb before the project turns into a redesign?

At Proventofan, the customization work covers frame sizes from 20mm to 900mm, voltage from 24V DC to 380V AC including 277V for North American applications, impeller material in PP, aluminum alloy, or galvanized steel, and IP levels from IP44 through IP65. Control interfaces include 0-10V, PWM, Modbus RS485, and BACnet. Connector type, wire length, terminal layout, mounting flange, private label, and white-label packaging are adjustable if the order needs them.

Stage Timeline
Inquiry reply Within 1 business day

Pro Tip

If a supplier can quote quickly but cannot explain how they matched footprint, control logic, and pressure duty, the risky part of the project has only been delayed, not solved.

FAQ

Q: What certifications should a centrifugal fan manufacturer provide?

A: Start with the market, not the catalog. For most export markets, CE marking and a declaration of conformity are the baseline. ISO 9001 covers the production process. UL matters for North America. TUV shows up often in Europe, and CCC is required for products sold in China. Ask for the documents themselves, not just the line on the datasheet.

Q: How do you compare two OEM centrifugal fan suppliers?

A: Start with test data. Ask both sides for AMCA 210 test reports instead of brochure numbers. Then compare motor range, IP rating options, sample lead time, MOQ, and cross-reference capability if the project starts from an existing fan. Ask what happens when a production batch goes wrong. You will learn a lot from how quickly and specifically each supplier answers.

Q: Where is Proventofan based and where do you ship?

A: Wenzhou, China. We ship globally with standard export documentation including commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, and CE declaration of conformity.

Q: Can you match a fan from another brand?

A: Yes. Send the datasheet or a physical sample. Our engineers review dimensions and performance and flag any mismatch instead of pretending every cross-reference is exact.

Q: What information should I prepare before requesting a quote?

A: Bring the basics first: airflow requirement in CFM or m3/h, static pressure in Pa or in. w.g., voltage, control interface, IP rating, and quantity. If you already have a competitor model number, include that too. You can reach us at andy@proventofan.com or through the contact form below.
