Proventofan's DC centrifugal fan and DC centrifugal blower range uses a backward-curved impeller for higher efficiency and a non-overloading power curve. Built for equipment that already runs on a 24V, 48V, 85V or 110V DC bus.
Eleven frame sizes from 133mm to 450mm. Impeller available in plastic or aluminum alloy. Voltage options: 24V, 48V, 85V and 110V DC. Higher-static-pressure builds are also supplied as DC centrifugal blowers. The 250mm model is the most common request.
Speed control: PWM, 0–10V analogue, or Modbus RS-485. Voltage, impeller material, PWM curve, housing finish and private label are all available on request. Typical uses span equipment cooling, ventilation and filtration.

If your system already runs on a DC bus and the speed needs to vary with load, a DC centrifugal fan connects straight in. These are the five applications we ship into most often. These applications are mainly equipment-level cooling. As a centrifugal cooling fan, it moves air right at the point where the equipment itself generates heat, rather than cooling the room around it.

A 48V model connects directly to server, PDU or rack-level DC power without an added AC-to-DC conversion stage. This removes a failure point and avoids the idle losses that stage adds.
PWM or 0–10V control lets fan speed follow your equipment's own thermal or load signal instead of running at one fixed speed. Confirm your specific control interface and signal compatibility before design-in.
This is component-level cooling: fans mounted inside server chassis, PDUs and rack-level equipment that already runs on 48V DC. For room-level cooling tied into building BMS/Modbus (CRAC units, UPS room ventilation), see our EC centrifugal fan range

Laminar flow cabinets, analyzers and ventilators push air through filters and internal baffles, so the fan works against real back pressure.
Compared with many similarly sized axial designs, a centrifugal fan generally holds more of its rated flow under that resistance. Select from the required operating point on the curve, not the peak datasheet value alone.
This fits benchtop and equipment-level medical/lab devices running on their own DC supply, such as analyzers, portable diagnostic equipment and ventilators. For facility-level cleanroom HVAC integrated with building BMS (HEPA/ULPA filtration, fan filter units), see our EC centrifugal fan range

In a sealed telecom cabinet, air goes in one side, through the equipment and out the other, and resistance builds up fast.
Compared with many similarly sized axial designs, a centrifugal fan can hold more usable airflow as that resistance rises. Select from the fan curve at your enclosure's actual operating point, not the maximum free-air number on a datasheet.
For unmanned outdoor base station cabinets, getting that airflow right at commissioning means you don't go back in three years to find out it wasn't.

0–10V input gives continuous, linear speed adjustment. Quiet at low speed, which matters in bedrooms and offices.
The 250mm DC centrifugal blower is a common fit for higher-resistance duct systems in fresh air units.

A DC centrifugal fan can support fume extraction or general exhaust in mobile, container-based and remote equipment already using a 24V or 48V DC supply.
When connected through a compatible controller, fan speed can respond to a CO2 or VOC sensor instead of remaining fixed.
See our full centrifugal exhaust fan guide
Consider AC or EC instead when only AC mains power is available and speed never changes (→ AC), or the fan serves room-level HVAC tied into a building BMS (→ EC). See the full AC vs DC vs EC technology comparison
Every model is a brushless DC centrifugal fan with backward-curved impeller. Every frame in this range shares the same build: an electrophoresis-coated rotor, die-cast aluminum housing, IP44 protection as standard (IP54 available on request), Class B insulation, mounting in any position, continuous (S1) operation, anti-clockwise rotation viewed toward the rotor, touch current under 3.5 mA, a -25°C to +60°C operating range, and maintenance-free ball bearings throughout.
Read Before You Spec
This IP rating describes the fan unit itself, not your finished enclosure. Mounting cutouts, cable entry points and duct openings all affect the assembly's actual ingress protection. Confirm your enclosure design against your target rating separately.
Maximum airflow and maximum static pressure occur at different points on the fan curve and cannot be achieved simultaneously. For your specific operating point, request the performance curve or contact us to confirm.

Container Fit & Measurement Standard
Order quantity affects your per-unit freight cost: more units per container means a lower landed cost per fan. Exactly how many fit in a 20ft or 40HQ container depends on the frame size and packaging, so we confirm the container fit for your specific model and order quantity at quotation rather than publishing one number that wouldn't apply across 11 different frame sizes.
Noise figures are LpA (A-weighted sound pressure level) measured 1m from the fan axis. Airflow and static pressure are measured with a DJ inlet ring, no contact protection installed. Actual noise in your installation will vary with mounting and enclosure.
Size Range & Terminology
This range runs from 133mm up to 450mm. You may also see these listed as "DC blower" or "DC centrifugal blower" in older documentation — same product, same specs, just an earlier name. For example, the 250mm model is also listed under its earlier name, 250mm DC Centrifugal Blower.
Looking for dedicated high-pressure blower duty rather than a centrifugal fan? The 310mm–450mm aluminum-impeller frames in this range are built for the high-airflow, heavy-duty end of this lineup. If your application needs a purpose-built high-pressure blower, see our high-pressure centrifugal blower guide
Four things to pin down before you order. Get these right and the fan goes in without issues.
Your system bus decides this. Most server and telecom applications run on 48V, which is why it's our most common order. 24V works for compact, low-power equipment. 85V and 110V cover industrial DC bus installations.
Not sure where you land? Start with 48V. Custom voltages are available on request for any frame size.
Start with your airflow target. The 133mm to 280mm range tops out at 3,084 m³/h using a plastic impeller. Above that, 310mm to 450mm use aluminum alloy impellers and handle the high-airflow, heavy-duty end.
Sitting between two sizes? Go with the bigger one: a fan running at 70% speed is quieter, cooler and lasts longer.
First, check what signal your controller actually outputs. PWM runs at 25kHz with a 30–100% duty cycle range. PLCs and BMS systems usually output 0–10V, so that's the easier wiring option. Modbus RS-485 is also available for network-controlled installations.
No external inverter or frequency drive needed for any of the three.
Standard build is IP44, which handles most indoor and protected enclosure setups. Dusty or wet environments may need IP54 or higher, depending on the exposure and installation. Higher ratings are available on request. One thing to sort before ordering: some IP ratings are direction-specific, so confirm the installation orientation.
Not sure what the environment requires? Send us the details and we'll work out the right build.
Comparing across our AC, DC and EC lines at once? Use the cross-line selector on the Centrifugal Fan hub page
Frames from φ133mm up to φ280mm use a plastic impeller as the standard configuration; the φ310–450mm frames use aluminum alloy as standard, and aluminum can also be specified at smaller sizes on request. If you're speccing a custom frame, confirm the required material against your speed, operating temperature and installation conditions with our engineering team.
Take the φ190mm frame: within the same speed series, published airflow, static pressure and input power stay the same at 24V and 48V, while rated current is roughly halved at 48V — the 48V DC fan draws 1.2A versus 2.4A at 24V.
Match the voltage to the DC supply already available in your system; adding a step-up or step-down converter solely to use a preferred frame size introduces extra components without providing an aerodynamic benefit.
Three motor types, three different use cases. Pick the wrong one and you either overpay or end up rewiring.
DC makes sense when your equipment already runs on a DC bus — servers, telecom cabinets, battery-backed systems. You skip the AC-to-DC conversion stage, which removes a failure point and cuts idle losses. DC provides built-in low-voltage speed control: PWM and 0–10V built in, with Modbus RS-485 available, without the additional speed-control hardware many AC installations need. Choose AC for simple fixed-speed operation from an AC supply. Choose EC when part-load efficiency and building-level control integration matter more.
Three places selection mistakes actually happen, and what we check to prevent them.

Looking for the Full Centrifugal Fan Range?
AC, DC and EC centrifugal fans, plus forward curved blowers, from one manufacturer.
Yes. Every brushless centrifugal fan in this range supports PWM (25kHz, 30–100% duty cycle) and 0–10V analogue input as standard; Modbus RS-485 is standard on the -90 and -20 series and can be added to the other series on request. No external inverter or frequency drive needed.
Standard options are 24V, 48V, 85V and 110V DC. 24V covers 133mm to 310mm, and 48V runs across the full 133mm to 450mm range. 85V and 110V are listed for 190mm to 280mm and can be built for other sizes on request. For non-standard voltages, custom builds from 12V to 110V are available on request.
DC fans run on direct current (24V to 110V) and support variable speed without an external inverter. AC fans run on mains voltage (115V to 400V) and typically run at a fixed speed. In practice, it comes down to your power supply. Already have a DC bus? The fan connects straight in, no conversion stage, no extra hardware.
AC fans cost less upfront and suit fixed-duty applications. DC is the better fit for servers, telecom cabinets, battery-backed systems and anything where speed needs to vary with load.
All models carry CE marking. Test reports and conformity docs are available for each frame size. Just let us know which model you need them for and we'll send them over.
Yes. Voltage (12V to 110V), PWM curve, impeller material, housing finish and private label are all on the table. Standard frame modifications carry no tooling fee; fully custom frames or impeller tooling are confirmed during engineering review, and for volume orders above 1,000 pcs tooling can be amortized into the unit price. Send us a drawing, a datasheet or a competitor part number and we respond within 1 business day.
The 280mm model delivers up to 3,084 m³/h at maximum speed, with a static pressure peak of 777 Pa. Voltage options run from 24V to 110V DC. PWM, 0–10V and Modbus RS-485 are all available on this model. Need the full curve at a specific operating point? Request the datasheet and we'll send it across.
For the same frame size and speed series, airflow, static pressure and power are identical — the only difference is current draw, which is roughly half at 48V compared to 24V. Choose based on which voltage your system already provides; adding a step-down or step-up converter just to use a different voltage adds a failure point for no aerodynamic gain.
Yes — DC centrifugal fans connect directly to a battery-backed DC bus without an AC-to-DC conversion stage. This is a common setup in telecom cabinets, server backup power and other equipment where a battery sits between the mains supply and the load.
The motor drive is built into every fan, so no external inverter is required. PWM (25kHz), 0–10V analogue and Modbus RS-485 control are all available across the range. Variable-speed operation still needs a control signal supplied by your own controller.
Standard catalog products ship as samples in 3–7 days. OEM custom builds (voltage, impeller, PWM curve, private label and other modifications) ship as samples in 5–10 days. Volume orders take longer — 15–20 days for standard products, 18–25 days for custom builds.
Development samples can be ordered from a single unit — there's no minimum. Volume and production orders start from 10 units for standard catalog models and 50 units for OEM custom builds, with quantity-based pricing confirmed at quotation.
